How MicroChanneling outperforms traditional MicroNeedling or SkinPen
The world of Esthetics and Cosmetic Surgery are constantly in evolution. It’s a beautiful and exciting field! One of the newest and most innovative technologies recently released is MicroChanneling. What is it, and what is making it outperform MicroNeedling?
MicroChanneling is a type of device and stamping technique where we create mild channels in the top layers of the skin. This activates your body's immune response to tell the body to repair itself. After the channels have been created, pure stem cells are applied to the open tissue. The stem cells act as a communication tool to tell the body to restore itself better than before. In particular, it helps create a rejuvenation cascade for new collagen production.
The advantages of this technique:
The stem cell used reduces inflammation in the skin instead of creating inflammation.
No drag or pore enlargement can occur with MicroNeedling
Virtually no downtime (most people are 60-90 minutes)
Skin is open for a short amount of time, reducing chances of bacteria getting in

Where can you use MicroChanneling?
The most amazing thing about MicroChanneling is all the areas of the body that can be treated! Because it simply tells the body to heal itself better… it can do so many things!
On the face, it improves:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Acne scars (it’s fantastic on these!!)
Surgical scars
Rosacea or redness on the face
Reduces pore size
Age spots, melasma, and other pigmentation on the face
Loose skin
Firms tighten and tones.
I have to say it is REALLY good at the above items but it is particularly great for those who fight the pigmentation of Melasma. Melasma is such a difficult thing to treat, and the lack of heat or inflammation makes this an amazing tool for this issue. It’s also amazing because MicroChanneling can be used on all skin colors and those with a tan! In addition, it doesn’t increase sun risk, so it can also be done ALL YEAR ROUND.
MicroChanneling works great for Hair Restoration too!
On the scalp it:

It doesn’t disrupt with coloring hair.

Why Is MicroChanneling better than MicroNeedling, and PRP?
MicroNeedling creates similar tissue damage to the skin as Procell MicroChanneling, but the devices and techniques have some issues. With MicroNeedling, you have to go MUCH deeper to get a similar result, which is more painful and has more downtime. It also increases the risk of infection. Additionally, the technique of MicroNeedling can increase pore size and cause drag in the tissue. The disbursement of channels isn’t as even and doesn’t provide as much coverage either. This does NOT improve your final results.
The use of anti-inflammatory stem cells also outperforms the results of PRP. If you’re above the age of 40, your plasma is aging with you. Re-injecting or re-applying your old plasma won’t necessarily boost your collagen as much as you’d think. Using a youthful anti-inflammatory stem cell is much more effective.
The little caveat at the end here… we do still see bigger results when doing RF MicroNeedling vs. Traditional MicroNeedling, and we do REALLY love that technology as well. If you’d like to learn more, read our other article here…
