after the shocking death of my mom.

The grief was almost unbearable, yet I was clear of what I had to do next...
Start before you're ready
Do it scared
It doesn't have to be perfect
Get out of your head
Don't overthink it
Am I enough?
Just a few thoughts are swirling around as I am getting ready to launch this media channel.
I am scared, nervous, anxious, excited, happy, and thrilled, all in the same breath to put myself out there in such a vulnerable way. Even have a pit in my stomach as I write this. I am pushing the limits of my comfort zone, and one thing I know for sure I am NOT comfortable staying there. To truly grow and change, one MUST get uncomfortable!
I have spent the last 11 years learning and growing, deep-dive in personal growth and discovery. It has been the ABSOLUTE BEST THING I have ever done!
Every day I am learning something new and growing into a higher expression of myself.
The MOST exhilarating part of this whole journey called Self-Education is there's no end in sight; there is ALWAYS a higher version of yourself!
After my Mom's sudden and totally unexpected death in August 2020, I was devastated, and my heart was literally breaking. The grief that I experienced was profound and life-changing.
Every week
Every week we release new media, check back in, or, even easier, stay in touch via Instagram @stylelove.co
My Mom struggled her whole life with self-identity, self-love, feeling worthy of 'anything.' Her insecurities, no personal identity, and lack of self-love showed up in her anger, frustration, and sadness every day.
Thankfully, I was finally able to really SEE my Mom starting in October 2018. Our relationship forever changed at that moment, and I will always be so grateful for the powerful impact she had on my life.
January 10th, 2020, my Mom had titled in her journal - Actions to Take;
(here are a few)
1 - Go to the library to do research on Ancestry
2 - Take lessons on i-pad
3 - Practice Piano - go to lessons
Few others...
9 - What is my gift to give away to others?
10 - Help me find and use my gift?
At the age of 77, my mom still wanted to Learn and Grow, still searching for HER GIFTS! So this has been my Greatest Inspiration from her.
We all have gifts, and it will always break my heart, my mom didn't know what a beautiful spirit she had and her unique contributions to share with others.
About a month after her death, I had a strong urge/feeling to start showing up in a more significant way. I wanted to honor my mom in some way. I didn't want her death to be the end of her life, but also the beginning of something NEW.
One of my mom's biggest struggles was that she never felt like she had a voice, so I wanted to show up and give her a voice, but I have found MY VOICE in the process.
It was time to SHOW UP! Show up for my Mom. Show up for me and show up for others.
I created this platform - this media channel as a place to Learn, Grow, be seen and heard, and allow others to step into their zone of genius. I LOVE to see others shine, owning their power, gifts, and voice!
StyleLove will be a place of collaboration, a place of self-expression for myself and others. Style is an inside job. I am honored and excited to build and create this platform with contributors in their expertise and support one another in the process.
When you Become More, get out of your way, you can Serve and Love OTHERS More!
This is just the beginning for StyleLove. I am excited for how it will evolve, how I will grow, and, of course, have lots of fun along the way supporting others!
"Where style meets clarity and is unapologetically passionate."
"It all starts within." Jill lives by this every day. Her journey over the last 11 years in the self-education industry has brought her right here.
But personal development and self-discovery is not her only passion.
Jill graduated from college with a Fashion Merchandising and Business degree. However, her love of style began at the age of 2, in her favorite red gingham dress, bonnet, matching red mary-jane shoes, and a little purse.
After graduating college, Jill worked in management in a major fashion department store, took a slight detour, and worked in the telecommunication industry and home design construction for several years.
Then about 12 years ago, when Jill was introduced to a women's clothing brand selling direct to consumers, she knew it was time to get back into fashion and style. A couple of years later, she became an independent stylist with a custom menswear brand and has never looked back.
It was a full-circle moment when Jill cleaned out some old college totes and found her senior paper titled Fashion Behavior and Trend Report Menswear 1997.
Jill understands style and confidence begin on the inside and what you wear allows you to show up as the Best Version of yourself! Her focus is for you to LOVE your STYLE!
